Hilke MacIntyre
was born in Germany and grew

up near Kiel. She studied architecture at the College
of Art & Architecture in Kiel and after her diploma
in 1990 worked in offices in Hamburg, Edinburgh
and London.
In '96 she moved to Scotland and concentrated on art.
She now lives with her husband - also an artist - and
their 2 children near St Andrews.

" I paint, print linocuts and make ceramic reliefs in a simplified  figurative style.

Particular influences are primitive art, folk art, the artists of Europe in the early 20th Century and contemporary design. I enjoy the direct visual pleasure of composing shapes, colours and patterns, looking for an individual picture of the world I see around me.
